Iron Dragon is a really cool coaster that I especially enjoy because as a suspended coaster it gives riders the impression that they are going to swing out and hit the supports. Though each of the lift hills (yes it has two) are fairly short and it maxes out around 45 mph, this ride is pretty cool at night. Some of the main characteristics are the theming and the winding track, in addition to the pretzel twist finale.
From the station there is a slight right-hand turn and the train slowly engages the chain, only to nearly stop before continuing the incline. The lift itself is almost unbearably long for being only 50-some feet tall! However, once the train crests the first hill, the ride is fairly intense until the finish. There is a winding path through the trees surrounding Mantis, and the train even comes close to the stairs of the queue on Mantis.
The second lift takes you up just as high, and from what I understand, Arrow put in this extra lift because even though the train could have made it through the helix, it was too risky because they didn't want the train to valley! Therefore, the second lift. After the second lift, the train quickly curves to the left and then dives over the pond through lots of mist and begins the pretzel finale. From there, there is very little left of the ride, except that the brakes come following an abrupt twist in the track, which leaves the cars swinging!
This is all I can really say about this coaster, even though I'm sure there is more I could say! One way you could fill in some of the blanks is to ride it yourself!
