Debuting this past summer at Cedar Point is the world's first double-spiral impulse coaster, Wicked Twister. Designed and prepared by Intamin AG of Switzerland, and the fourth of Intamin coasters at Cedar Point, Wicked Twister has also set a record for height and speed, at 220 feet and 75 mph maximum speed.

This is one of my new favorite coasters, one reason being the sweet color scheme, the other being just a completely awesome ride.  From the queue line, the towers loom high above the 'pit' of sand surrounding the queue, also called the beach.  One of the things people notice while in line as the train runs its course is that both towers sway, and though it seems like this ride is dangerous because of this, it is quite safe and there is no way either of the towers could break.

Inside the relatively simple station, oncoming riders can see the long line of LIM's, and the sleek trains run with two cars in each block, with a total of seven cars, a really cool design.  Another cool part about this ride is the way the towers were constructed so the spine of the train would always remain in a straight line upon reaching the top of the tower.  As a safety precaution to the ride over-launching the train, there are two absorbent hydraulic pads at the top of each tower, so basically this ride is indestructable!

Upon getting in the train, differently from most restraints, there is a single clip on the side of the train that holds the restraint bar down.  After a quick check of each of the restraints, the LIMs charge up and within four seconds is traveling at 56 mph up the first tower.  However, it's not until the third launch that the full power of a LIM is felt.  The G's are completely incredible, and the feeling of spinning and at the same time plunging in free-fall is completely awesome.  The sad part is that after an hour wait, the ride ends within about two minutes.  Still, it's completely worth the entire wait!
