The oldest coaster at Cedar Point, and certainly not the least, Blue Streak was built in 1964 and named after the football team. Blue Streak, though one of the shorter wooden coasters in existence these days, still gives out the same quality ride it did when it first debuted, and the only real change that has occurred to the ride is the refurbishing of the trains and lapbar replacement.
The Blue Streak, though not one of my favorites, is known for its second hill, known to coaster enthusiasts as a camelback, which enhances the effect of speed and height by lifting the riders from their seats when the train goes over the hill. This is one of the few really powerful neg-G coasters that I think is rather down-rated. If you ever visit the Point, beware of a surprise, which is the location of the path to the station. Because of the ride's placement next to the road, it would seem that the ride is easily accessible from the main midway. Guess what? It isn't (boy wasn't that a surprise)! You'll need to look at a map in order to make your way over to it because as it appears from the path, there is no way to get to the coaster. So, next time you show up at Cedar Point, have fun- 1.) with looking for it, and 2.) with riding it!
